Basketball Recap: Douglas County Huskies vs. Legend Titans
There's no place like home for the Douglas County Huskies, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Legend by a score of 72-63 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Anthony Nettles, who scored 32 points along with eight assists and eight steals. It was the first time this season that he posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of London Moore, who scored 15 points.
When it comes to explaining why Legend lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kale Sparks. Despite the final result, he scored ten points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Sparks has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last eight times he's played. Creed Schutte was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Douglas County's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Legend, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
Douglas County will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Legend, they will head out on the road to face off against the Sabercats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Castle View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
