Baseball Game Preview: Cashmere Bulldogs vs. Naches Valley Rangers

Cashmere is on a nine-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Naches Valley is on a five-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Bulldogs will host the Rangers at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cashmere is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Cashmere earned a 7-2 victory over Meridian.

Mac Carlson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Levi Strutzel, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

Cashmere hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Naches Valley had just enough and edged out Colville 3-2 on Thursday.

Naches Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-6-1. As for Cashmere, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Cashmere couldn't quite finish off Naches Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
