Basketball Recap: St. Thomas Catholic Comes Up Short

St. Thomas Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 69-64 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westside Wolves. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in December of 2016.

Despite the loss, St. Thomas Catholic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Reed Jacobson dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards. Jacobson also set a new season-high mark in steals with five. Pierce Jacobson was another key player, going 6-for-8 on his way to 16 points.

St. Thomas Catholic now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Westside, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

St. Thomas Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-33 victory against Legacy Prep Christian Academy on the 25th. As for Westside, they have also already played their next contest, a 70-67 win against Tomball Memorial on the 28th.
