Basketball Recap: Goddard's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Goddard lost to Santa Teresa back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Goddard Rockets managed a 56-52 victory over the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors.

Goddard's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ezekiel Burrola, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points. Those 21 points gave Burrola a new career-high. Ayden Luck was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

Several Desert Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Preston Johnson, who went 5 for 6 en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Adrian Luna, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Goddard's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11. As for Santa Teresa, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Goddard has already played their next match, a 54-38 defeat against Portales on the 31st. As for Santa Teresa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 85-31 victory against El Paso Leadership Academy East on the 27th.
