Basketball Recap: Buckeye Hawks vs. Copper Canyon Aztecs

Make it ten blowout wins for the Buckeye Hawks this season. They blew past Copper Canyon 54-27 on the road on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Buckeye sure is getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

It was another big night for Amayah Leyva, who scored 25 points along with five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last four times she's played. Kiria Avila escarcega was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine assists and seven rebounds.

Buckeye has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Copper Canyon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-13.

Buckeye will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Copper Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
