Soccer Game Preview: Greenwood vs. Estacado

The Greenwood Rangers will head out on the road to challenge the Estacado Matadors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Greenwood has five straight wins, Estacado has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Greenwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Pecos with a sharp 14-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Rangers have won nine matchups by more than four goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Estacado didn't have quite enough to beat Snyder on Friday and fell 2-1.

Greenwood pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Estacado, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Greenwood took their victory against Estacado in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 9-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greenwood since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
