Softball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central's last matchup with Freeport could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Wednesday. The Jaguars came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 19-3. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Natalie Blair was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Kylie Goodale also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Freeport, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Looking ahead, Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Paxton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.27 runs per game on average), something the Jaguars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Freeport, they will face off against Destin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
