Basketball Recap: St. John's Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Mckenzie Small and Camille Nesmith

If St. John was riding high fresh off their 75-36 takedown of St. Mary's Ryken last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. John's Cadets took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elizabeth Seton on Tuesday. The Cadets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Elizabeth Seton earlier this season, when they won 68-67.

St. John's loss came despite strong showings from Camille Nesmith and Mckenzie Small. Nesmith went 5-for-12 to rack up 10 points and seven boards, while Small dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds gave Small a new career-high.

St. John's loss dropped their record down to 24-4. As for Elizabeth Seton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-8.

St. John's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elizabeth Seton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-50 win against Bishop O'Connell on the 19th.
