Baseball Recap: Kenston Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kenston). They skirted past the Riverside Beavers 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bombers have posted since May 20, 2024.

Grady Flynn was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Gelin, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Kenston hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Kenston's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Riverside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Kenston will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Beavers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
