Volleyball Recap: Lincoln North Star Falls Short Against Ranked Waverly

Lincoln North Star faced Waverly in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Navigators took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The Navigators have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

McKenna Powell paced Lincoln North Star's offense, picking up five kills. Powell got some help from Alex Kroll and her nine assists.

Leading Waverly to victory were Emmalyn Quinn and Ansley Real. Quinn had 12 digs, while Real had four digs.

Lincoln North Star's defeat dropped their record down to 20-3. As for Waverly, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-2.

Lincoln North Star wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Elkhorn South on the 4th. As for Waverly, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against York at 6:30 p.m. on the 14th.
