Baseball Recap: Sabino Comes Up Short

Sabino was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Douglas Bulldogs, falling 9-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sabercats of the 8-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2016.

Sabino saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Hansen, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those RBI were Hansen's first of the season.

Sabino's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Douglas, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4-1.

Coming up, Sabino will host Marana at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Douglas, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-7 victory against Casa Grande on the 21st.
