Softball Game Preview: Mason City Mohawks vs. Lincoln Railsplitters

The Mason City Mohawks will head out to challenge the Lincoln Railsplitters at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mason City's offense. They fell 4-0 to Newman Catholic on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mohawks in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-3 to Marshalltown.

Mason City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Mason City couldn't quite get it done against Lincoln when the teams last played back in June of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can the Mohawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
