Volleyball Recap: Holy Trinity Tigers vs. Westmont Sentinels

Holy Trinity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Westmont Sentinels. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-14.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryley Johnson, who had 12 assists and three aces. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Holy Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Westmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Trinity will host Southland College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westmont, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Berwyn/Cicero Morton at 6:30 p.m.
