Basketball Recap: Kennedy Memorial Drops Highest Score of Season Against Dunellen

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kennedy Memorial). They strolled past the Dunellen Destroyers with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 38-23. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

Several Destroyers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jahzara McLaughlin, who posted six points along with nine boards and eight steals. McLaughlin is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Kennedy Memorial's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Dunellen, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennedy Memorial will take on Sayreville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dunellen, they will challenge Carteret at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
