Volleyball Game Preview: Harding Skippers vs. Kirtland Hornets

Harding is 0-7 against Kirtland since October of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Skippers will challenge the Hornets at 7:00 p.m.

Harding lost 3-0 to Andrews Osborne Academy on Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-14, 25-18.

Kirtland won the last time they faced Cornerstone Christian and Willa Gordon did her part to make sure it happened again. The Hornets came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 3-1 on Saturday thanks in part to Gordon, who had ten digs and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Kirtland walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 20-25, 25-22, 25-17.

Harding's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Kirtland, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Harding might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Kirtland when the teams last played back in October of 2019. Can the Skippers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
