Softball Recap: MOT Charter Comes Up Short

MOT Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-17 heartbreaker at the hands of the First State Military Academy Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (11), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Haylee Yap stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Hunt, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

MOT Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for First State Military Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. MOT Charter is set to square off against their familiar foe Delaware Military Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, First State Military Academy will challenge rival St. Elizabeth at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
