Basketball Recap: West Catholic's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

West Catholic won the last time they faced Cardinal O'Hara and things went their way on Monday too. The West Catholic Burrs came out on top against the Cardinal O'Hara Lions by a score of 59-52. The win was all the more spectacular given the Burrs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Lions are ranked tenth).

West Catholic's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8. As for Cardinal O'Hara, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Catholic will head out to square off against Archbishop Ryan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cardinal O'Hara, they will face off against Archbishop Wood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Archbishop Wood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Cardinal O'Hara likes a good challenge.
