Volleyball Recap: Holy Spirit Catholic Comes Up Short

Holy Spirit Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Oakman Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Saints of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2016.

Holy Spirit Catholic may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 16 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-16.

Oakman found their leader in sophomore Annleigh Hagood, who had five digs and four aces.

Holy Spirit Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Oakman, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.

Holy Spirit Catholic has already played their next match (against Leeds), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Oakman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Fairview on the 6th.
