Basketball Recap: Crisp Academy Comes Up Short

Crisp Academy was the 48-45 winner over Covenant Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Crisp Academy Wildcats took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Covenant Academy on Monday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Covenant Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben McGhee, who went 8 of 20 on his way to 23 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Stevens, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Crisp Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Covenant Academy, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9.

Crisp Academy will square off against Southwest Georgia STEM Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Covenant Academy, they and Twiggs Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
