Softball Recap: Charleston Comes Up Short

Charleston was the 7-6 winner over Mt. Zion when they last played one another on May 10th, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans fell 12-7 to the Braves on Friday.

Lainie Keefer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Avery Beals was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

Charleston's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Mt. Zion, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Charleston nor Mt. Zion have any future games scheduled.
