Soccer Game Preview: Camden County vs. Holmes

The Camden County Bruins will face off against the Holmes Aces at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Camden County will be strutting in after a victory while Holmes will be coming in after a loss.

Holmes better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Camden County's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Camden County really gets things going. The Bruins never let Gates County get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Considering Camden County have won eight matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Holmes fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Manteo on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redskins. Holmes were red-hot offensively heading into the match (they scored no less than four goals in the three matchups prior), but Manteo's defense proved too tough.

Holmes' goal came courtesy of Elvis Manzo-Pineda, who's now up to 12 this season.

Camden County has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 44 goals over those 12 matches. As for Holmes, with the defeat, they broke their five-match winning streak and moved their record to 10-5-3.
