Mt. Spokane is a perfect 10-0 against Cheney since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will host the Blackhawks at 4:00 p.m. Mt. Spokane's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Cheney's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mt. Spokane is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past University 16-1 on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Cheney didn't have quite enough to beat Mead on Thursday and fell 5-4. The loss continues a trend for the Blackhawks in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Jace Vega was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brayden Martin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Mt. Spokane pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Cheney, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Mt. Spokane beat Cheney 9-6 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Blackhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
