Volleyball Recap: Kouts Comes Up Short

Kouts was the 2-0 winner over Kankakee Valley when they last played one another back in September of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs & Fillies fell just short of the Kougars by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Erin Stewart paced Kouts' offense, picking up seven kills. Stewart got some help from Adeline Winters and her ten assists. Stewart was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Peyton Mills was the offensive standout of the contest as she had nine digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in October of 2024. Avery Diener also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Kouts' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Kankakee Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Kouts has already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Hanover Central on the 25th. As for Kankakee Valley, they will take on Rensselaer Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
