The Germantown Red Devils will square off against the Whitehaven Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Germantown will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against Cordova on Wednesday. The Red Devils blew past the Wolves 19-6. The victory continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won six in a row.

Gabriel Valles was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Germantown's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 3-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Leaks, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Germantown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Whitehaven never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Sheffield last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Knights. Considering the Tigers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Andrew Robinson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Robinson was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
In other batting news, Whitehaven got a massive performance out of Jaylon Dodson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Dodson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ramar Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Whitehaven's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4-1. As for Germantown, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Germantown has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Whitehaven struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Germantown took their win against Whitehaven when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
