The Durango Trailblazers will square off against the Centennial Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Centennial took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Durango, who comes in off a win.

Durango headed into their last game having not scored more than 12 points for three straight, but Bonanza let them put that streak behind them. Durango blew past Bonanza, posting a 48-7 win at home. The Trailblazers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Durango found their leader in underclassman Makai Miller, who rushed for 182 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. Miller really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Alexander Mercurius was another key player, rushing for 55 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.

Durango wouldn't let Bonanza keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Durango can thank Nysear Smith and Emmanuel Peter for forcing both of them. Peter also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks, forcing a fumble, and making three total tackles (3.0 for loss) which he returned for a touchdown.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Durango was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 245 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 47-10 loss at the hands of Snow Canyon. Having soared to a lofty 32 points in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Durango's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Durango didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Centennial in their previous meeting back in August of 2021, but they still walked away with a 32-28 win.
