Basketball Recap: Kofa Comes Up Short

Kofa lost against Yuma back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kofa Kings were outmatched by the Yuma Criminals and fell 71-32. The Kings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.

Kofa's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Curiel, who posted four points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Zayden Koivu was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Yuma's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andy Mosqueda, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 boards. Mosqueda is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least 11 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliott Higuera, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 18 points.

Kofa dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Yuma, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kofa will face off against Red Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Yuma, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against ALA - Queen Creek at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in ALA - Queen Creek's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
