Softball Recap: Ithaca Yellowjackets vs. Merrill Vandals
While Ithaca's victory against Merrill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellowjackets narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Vandals 5-3. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Vandals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Ivy Davenport made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
