Basketball Game Preview: Paideia Pythons vs. Walker Wolverines

Paideia hasn't had much luck against Walker recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Paideia Pythons just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Walker Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a seven-game winning streak alive.

On Thursday, Paideia took their matchup with ease, bagging a 74-41 win over Atlanta International. Given the Pythons' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Eagles are ranked 558th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Walker was able to grind out a solid victory over Lovett on Monday, taking the game 67-58.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in King Daniel Hernandez and Cameron Cannon. Hernandez had a solid game and dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, Cannon was balling out in the loss, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine boards.

Paideia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for Walker, their win bumped their record up to 16-3.

Paideia came up short against Walker in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, falling 53-45. Can Paideia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
