Baseball Recap: Green Hope Beats Cary for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Green Hope waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cary Imps a 4-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Jackson Wall looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mason Dean was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Troy Haynes, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Green Hope pushed their record up to 9-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cary, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Coming up, Cary will be playing at home against Holly Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Green Hope will be paying especially close attention to the Imps' game: after the Imps face off against the Golden Hawks, they'll take on Green Hope again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
