Baseball Recap: Syracuse Titans vs. Fremont Silverwolves
Syracuse extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 5-14 in the process. They fell 9-5 to the Fremont Silverwolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Silverwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-5 on Tuesday.
Kysen Gallegos was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
As for Fremont, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games.
On Fremont's side, Tad Grange looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grange has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Adam Mikesell was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Simkins, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
While Syracuse had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
