Baseball Recap: Wayne County's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Wayne County entered their tilt with Hughes on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 on Monday.

Warren Camfield got the start for Wayne County and what a start it was: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Camfield a new career-high in strikeouts (four). Brady Stooksberry picked up the save, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Wayne County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Davis, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Davis has posted since back in May of 2025.

Wayne County's record now sits at 6-3. As for Hughes, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Wayne County will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Mt. Pleasant at 3:00 p.m. As for Hughes, they will take on Clarksburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
