Bolivar Central has gone 4-0 against Bolton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bolivar Central Tigers challenge the Bolton Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Bolivar Central took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They managed a 69-63 win over Middleton.
Bolivar Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Dixon out in front who went 6 for 8 en route to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kealan Polk, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.
Meanwhile, Bolton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 73-70 heartbreaker at the hands of Fayette Ware. The match was a 39-39 toss-up at halftime, but Bolton couldn't quite close it out.
Bolivar Central will need focus on slowing down Kylan Collins, one of several Bolton players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists. Collins is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rahsad MacLin, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Bolton was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fayette Ware only racked up 11 assists.
Bolton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Bolivar Central, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Bolivar Central hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 64.9 points per game. However, it's not like Bolton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 76.7 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
