Softball Recap: New Bern Comes Up Short

New Bern fell victim to D.H. Conley and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. That makes it the first time this season the Bears have let down their home crowd.

New Bern's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-2. As for D.H. Conley, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Bern will square off against Pamlico County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Hurricanes have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matches. As for D.H. Conley, they will take on South Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
