Basketball Recap: North Hills Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

After losing to New Castle the last time they met, North Hills decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The North Hills Indians took down the New Castle Hurricanes 69-55 on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Indians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 33rd).

New Castle lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kai Cox, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight assists and six boards. Another player making a difference was Damian Harrison, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points.

The win was the third in a row for North Hills, bringing their record for this year to 5-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for New Castle, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-2.

North Hills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-39 defeat against Butler on the 21st. As for New Castle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-52 loss against Woodland Hills on the 21st.
