Basketball Recap: Port Allegany Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

If Austin wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Port Allegany, they should've done a better job of containing Jarrod Funk. The Port Allegany Gators were the clear victor by a 56-33 margin over the Austin Panthers on Friday thanks in part to Funk, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 boards. He has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last three times he's played.

Port Allegany is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Austin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port Allegany will challenge Otto-Eldred at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Otto-Eldred will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Port Allegany surely won't give up without a fight. As for Austin, they will face off against Northern Potter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
