Baseball Recap: Maconaquah Takes a Loss

Oak Hill hit Maconaquah with a eight-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Braves fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 13-12. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Bennett Isenburg was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and four runs. Another player making a difference was Caiden Richards, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Maconaquah's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Oak Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Maconaquah will look to defend their home field on Monday against Northfield at 5:30 p.m. The Norsemen will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Braves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Oak Hill, they are taking a road trip to challenge Yorktown at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
