Preview: Rickards Raiders vs. Florida State University High School Seminoles
The Rickards Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Florida State University High School Seminoles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Rickards put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Lincoln 64-49. Given Rickards' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Lincoln is ranked 80th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rickards to victory, but perhaps none more so than Travis Morris, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Bj Plummer was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Florida State University High School at home against Lincoln on Wednesday as the squad secured a 70-34 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Florida State University High School.
Dakota Morris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with 9 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Iyran Francis, who scored 6 points along with 7 blocks and 5 rebounds.
Their wins bumped Rickards to 5-0 and Lincoln to 3-1.
Rickards lost to Florida State University High School at home by a decisive 56-39 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Rickards avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
