Baseball Recap: Borden Find Success

Borden extended their postseason success on Saturday against Lanesville. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 6-0 shutout. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Jayden Gardner, who gave up just six hits to keep Lanesville off the board. Gardner has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Borden saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Schmidt, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Will Bobay was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.

Borden's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Lanesville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Borden will face off against Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lanesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
