Basketball Recap: Harjas Thiara's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Belleview Christian over Skyview Academy

Belleview Christian lost against SkyView Academy back in February of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Belleview Christian Bruins fell to the SkyView Academy Hawks 37-31. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Belleview Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harjas Thiara, who posted 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Tara Polson, who scored ten points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

SkyView Academy found their leader in freshman Ellie McLaughlin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. McLaughlin continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Mei Li Scholl was another key player, putting up six points along with 11 boards and five assists.

Belleview Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for SkyView Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Belleview Christian will head out to take on Lyons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. SkyView Academy has already played their next contest (against Union Colony Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
