Basketball Game Preview: Sunset Apollos vs. Beaverton Beavers

The Sunset Apollos will head out to square off against the Beaverton Beavers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Sunset lost to Mountainside on the road by a 73-56 margin. The Apollos have struggled against the Mavericks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Beaverton ended up a good deal behind Westview on Friday and lost 53-38. The matchup marked the Beavers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sunset's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Beaverton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Sunset didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Beaverton in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 65-60 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sunset since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
