Basketball Recap: Angel Ochoa and Isaiah Owens Secure Win for Victory Christian Academy

Victory Christian Academy can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-62 win over the Del Norte Nighthawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since January 26th.

Leading Victory Christian Academy to victory were Isaiah Owens and Angel Ochoa. Owens went 9 of 12 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds, while Ochoa went 8 of 13 on his way to 24 points and five rebounds. Ochoa's morning made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Fernandez, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Victory Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Del Norte, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Victory Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 78-71 defeat against Loyola on the 27th. As for Del Norte, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-52 victory against Oakwood on the 28th.
