Baseball Game Preview: Westwood Panthers vs. Sebastian River Sharks

Westwood is 0-10 against Sebastian River since March of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will challenge the Sharks at 6:00 p.m. Westwood has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Westwood came up short against Central on Friday, falling 13-6. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Sebastian River came into Tuesday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past Central 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sharks have posted since February 27th.

Sebastian River got a great performance from Jamison Jones as he struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Sebastian River's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jake Cavill, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Cavill's first of the season.

Sebastian River's record is now 3-13. As for Westwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Westwood couldn't quite get it done against Sebastian River when the teams last played back in February as they fell 12-7. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
