Soccer Game Preview: Valley vs. Sterling

Valley hasn't had much luck against Sterling recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Vikings will head out to square off against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Valley has given up an average of 5.7 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Valley is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Liberty Common, falling 11-1. Valley were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 8-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Jackie Gonzalez-Pizano, which was the first she's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Sterling fell victim to Windsor Charter Academy and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Firebirds. Sterling have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Sterling, they now have a losing record of 3-4-2.

Valley couldn't quite get it done against Sterling when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
