Volleyball Recap: Shadow Ridge Takes a Loss

If Shadow Ridge was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Liberty last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Stallions fell 3-1 to the Casteel Colts on Tuesday. While the Stallions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Colts 25-21 in the first set.

Shadow Ridge started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-8.

Casteel was led to victory by Will Schneiderman and Layton Bluth. Schneiderman had 25 digs and four assists, while Bluth had 16 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Bluth has posted over his last six matches.

Shadow Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Casteel, their record is now 20-10-1.

Looking ahead, Shadow Ridge will head out on the road to square off against Perry at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Casteel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Basha at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
