Recap: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Aurora Greenmen
The Roosevelt Rough Riders suffered their closest loss since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Aurora by a score of 53-50. Roosevelt was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Aurora apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Roosevelt still got an impressive performance from Tyrel Ellington, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jack Smith, who scored nine points.
Roosevelt has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Aurora, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Roosevelt will stay at home for another game and welcome Tallmadge at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Tallmadge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Roosevelt likes a good challenge. As for Aurora, they will head out on the road to take on Barberton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Barberton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Aurora in Ohio (Barberton is ranked 98th, while Aurora is ranked 270th).
