Basketball Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Comes Up Short

Elmwood-Murdock has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through a 57-28 loss at the hands of Oakland-Craig. While losing is never fun, Elmwood-Murdock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Oakland-Craig is ranked ninth).

Despite the loss, Elmwood-Murdock still got an impressive performance from Brooke Goudie, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 10 points and eight boards. Goudie is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games she's played.

It was another big night for Briar Ray, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds for Oakland-Craig. Another player making a difference was Sonya Guzinski, who posted 12 points and five boards.

Elmwood-Murdock's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Oakland-Craig, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 23-3.

As of now, neither Elmwood-Murdock nor Oakland-Craig have any future games scheduled.
