Softball Recap: Green Sea Floyds Gets the Win

Green Sea Floyds took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Marion, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Swamp Foxes on Friday. The Trojans were shut out 11-0 the last time they took on the Swamp Foxes, so the Trojans were just returning the favor.

The team relied heavily on Mk Strickland, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Reagan Cox also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The victory got Green Sea Floyds back to even at 6-6. As for Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Sea Floyds will face off against Carvers Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marion, they will square off against Manning at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
