Volleyball Recap: Ellington Gets the Win

Ellington won the last time they faced Risco and things went their way on Saturday too. The Whippets walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Whippets.

Megan Copeland paced Ellington's offense, picking up seven kills. Copeland got some help from Tayleigh Cowin and her 18 assists. Copeland was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Despite the defeat, Risco saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lorelai Smith had 14 assists and two aces. Smith is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Ellington's win bumped their record up to 8-2-1. As for Risco, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5-1.

Ellington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Portageville on the 13th. As for Risco, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Holcomb on the 15th.
