Basketball Recap: Santiam Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Western Christian, Santiam was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 1-0 win over the Gervais Cougars. The one-point effort marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Santiam has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Gervais, they dropped their record down to 5-19 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Santiam will square off against Regis at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Regis knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Santiam likes a good challenge. Gervais does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
