Volleyball Recap: Briana Downs Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Palm Beach Gardens + How To Watch

After losing to Palm Beach Gardens the last time they met, Berean Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-2, 25-4.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Berean Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Briana Downs, who had 15 kills, four digs, and two aces. Downs has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Gard, who had nine aces and four digs.

They weren't the only good server: Berean Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 26 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last four matchups.

The win got Berean Christian back to even at 5-5. As for Palm Beach Gardens, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berean Christian will welcome Clewiston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palm Beach Gardens, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Oxbridge Academy at 7:00 p.m.
